The Terre Di Pisa wine consortium was created in 2018 when a group of winemakers came together to promote wine production in the province of Pisa.
The aims of this group are to promote, protect and add value to the controlled designation of origin DOC Terre di Pisa, it also actively coordinates with the authorities in marketing controls and develops new production methods.
The DOC Terre di Pisa was set up to represent the top Pisan wines of the areas of Fauglia, Crespina, Lari, Chianni, Capannoni, Palaia, Peccioli, Terricciola, Casciana Terme, Ponsacco, Pontedera, Montopoli V.A., San Miniato, Orciano Pisano, Lorenzana and Santa Luce.
The consortium offers its members a number of services, mostly promotion, including the right to participate at the “Terre di Pisa Food and Wine festival”, in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II in Pisa. Along with the Chamber of Commerce it also helps its members enter emerging markets.
Currently there are fifteen winemakers in the consortium, spread over seven municipalities led by the President Nicola Cantoni and Vice President Ginevra Venerosi Pesciolini who coordinate the board.
