The 2011 Grape Harvest

Long and stress-free vegetative cycle

A normal winter, followed by an early spring with temperatures above seasonal averages, led to a slightly early bud break. Spring was normal, and summer on the cool side with a fair amount of rain leading to a long growing season without stress for the vines. A very hot August, partly mitigated by the influence of the sea nearby, led to accelerated ripening, so much so that we picked the merlot at the end of August. In September the weather was perfect with the right range between day and night-time temperatures, good weather and low humidity.

In short, we could say that we are very happy with the results we achieved with the 2011 vintage.
