The 2020 Grape Harvest

A good vegetative balance

Thanks to a regular spring and a good distribution of rains, the vines had balanced growth without particular problems with fungal diseases.
We suffered a small frost at the beginning of April which affected some parts of our Santa Maria vineyard. This led to a drastic reduction in yield but did not affect the quality which was excellent.

A rainy June helped the full development of the plant and a July and a first half of August without rain helped to make the veraison regular. Abundant rain on August 17th permitted a complete and satisfactory phenolic ripening.

The wines are therefore full, elegant and balanced.  A great year for quality with a reduction however of 20% in quantity.
